K-MARKET Chairman Go Sang-gu Donates $100,000 to Support the Korean Community in Ho Chi Minh City
On the 20th, Go Sang-gu, Chairman of K-MARKET (K-마켓), generously donated $100,000 (approximately 117.65 million KRW) to aid the Korean community in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, which has been struggling due to the impacts of COVID-19.
During the donation ceremony held at the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, Chairman Go handed over the funds to the Korean Association in Ho Chi Minh City and stated, “Please use this donation for purchasing vaccines and for emergency relief funds to support Korean residents affected by COVID-19 in Ho Chi Minh City.”
As a former president of the Korean Association in Vietnam, Chairman Go has been operating K-MARKET, the largest distributor of Korean food products in Vietnam. Despite the economic downturn, strict lockdowns, and enhanced quarantine measures affecting his business, he chose to make the donation.
Chairman Go has been actively supporting both the Korean community and Vietnam in overcoming COVID-19 challenges since the early days of the pandemic.
