[The Fact | Jeonju = Reporter Lee Kyung-sun] The investment briefing held by Jeonbuk Province for global Korean entrepreneurs at the 22nd World Korean Business Convention garnered significant attention.

On the last day of the event, the 24th, over 100 overseas Korean entrepreneurs attended the briefing held at Gain Hall, Jinsoo Building, Jeonbuk National University, where they were introduced to the outstanding business environment of Jeonbuk, Saemangeum, and Jeonju.

At this event, the successful investment opportunities offered by Jeonbuk were extensively introduced, drawing significant interest from global business leaders.

In particular, Governor Kim Gwan-young took the stage himself, replacing the scheduled department heads, to vividly explain Jeonbuk’s investment environment to the entrepreneurs. He emphasized that Jeonbuk is creating a business-friendly environment through bold special measures and financial support, leaving a strong impression on the overseas business leaders. Governor Kim’s sincere remarks captivated the attendees, further increasing interest in investment opportunities in Jeonbuk.

The briefing was attended by global Korean business leaders, including Ko Sang-gu, Chairman of the World Federation of Korean Associations, Kim Jeom-bae, Chairman of the Africa and Middle East Korean Business Association, Yoon Hee, Chairman of the Asia Korean Business Association, and Park Gi-chul, former Chairman of the World Korean Trade Association, who all showed great interest.

Entrepreneurs were deeply impressed by Jeonbuk’s detailed support policies, such as the “one company, one public official” system, and particularly focused on the remarkable growth of Saemangeum, which has attracted more than 10 trillion won in investment in the secondary battery sector since the 8th civilian administration.

Additionally, positive evaluations followed regarding Jeonbuk’s stable and attractive investment environment, including the country’s top-level investment incentives, the designation of opportunity development special zones, and labor-management peace.

Jeonju City also introduced various investment opportunities in hydrogen, carbon, drone industries, as well as the cultural and tourism sectors, with a focus on promoting the competitiveness of the National Carbon Materials Industrial Complex, which will be available for lease in the second half of this year.

Successful investment case studies were presented by Im Seung-hoon, Executive Director of Dongwoo Hainchem Co., Ltd., and Lee Soo-ji, Executive Director of Royal Canin Korea, who praised Jeonbuk’s excellent location conditions, convenient transportation infrastructure, abundant human resources, industry-academic-research link programs, and various investment incentives.

The investment environment in Jeonbuk was proven to offer great opportunities for global companies.

Governor Kim Gwan-young stated, “We will provide strong support to ensure that businesses in Jeonbuk and overseas Korean entrepreneurs achieve greater success together. Having confirmed Jeonbuk’s limitless potential through this event, we expect even more active cooperation and noticeable results in the future.”

He further asked, “I also request that overseas entrepreneurs widely share the charm of Jeonbuk and Saemangeum.”

Jeonju Mayor Woo Beom-gi stated, “I am pleased to introduce Jeonju, which has a rich investment environment in various fields such as economy, culture, and tourism. I wish all the Korean representatives working domestically and internationally much success in becoming global businesses that thrive worldwide.”
