– Goryeong County’s Overseas Trade Delegation Achieves Major Success with $3.8 Million Export MOU in Vietnam

Goryeong County Mayor Lee Nam-cheol led the Overseas Trade Delegation’s export consultation event in Vietnam.

On the 8th of this month, Goryeong County’s overseas trade delegation held an export consultation in Hanoi, Vietnam, one of South Korea’s three major trading partners.

During the consultation, the event achieved a remarkable success with 44 consultations totaling $7.08 million (₩95.6 billion). Out of these, 13 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed with a total export value of $3.8 million (₩51.2 billion).

The participating companies included Jisan Taporin, Haewon Industry, ENB Trading, Dasan Casting, Daelim Farms, MS Food, Bob Dallas, SD Corporation, Samjeong Special Rubber, and NaHo Tech. The items for consultation included processed foods, primary metals (automotive parts), tarpaulin, and rubber rolls, among other diverse products.

Meanwhile, Goryeong County signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM, Chairman Hong Seon) to enhance economic exchange and cooperation. The signing ceremony was attended by Mayor Lee Nam-cheol, Goryeong County Council members Kim Ki-chang and Seong Nak-cheol, Kim Jong-tae, Chairman of the Goryeong County Chamber of Commerce, and Yoon Hwi, Vice Chairman of KOCHAM. Both sides agreed to closely cooperate in supporting Goryeong’s outstanding businesses’ entry into the Vietnamese market, consulting on local products and agricultural foods, and promoting human resources exchanges.

Additionally, Goryeong County signed an MOU with K-Market, Vietnam’s largest distributor of Korean food, operating 136 stores in the country. The MOU was signed at K-Market’s logistics center and was attended by Mayor Lee Nam-cheol, Council members Kim Ki-chang and Seong Nak-cheol, Kim Jong-tae, Chairman of the Goryeong County Chamber of Commerce, and Shin Young-hwa, CEO of K-Market. The trade delegation companies, including MS Food (frozen pizza), Bob Dallas (seaweed), and ENB Trading (fresh foods), held product promotions and tasting events. They agreed to cooperate in expanding exports of Goryeong’s agricultural products and processed foods to Vietnam and enhancing the distribution network.

K-Market, established in 2002, is the largest Korean food distributor in Vietnam, with 136 stores and 1,800 employees.

Goryeong County Delegation Visits Vietnam’s Foreign Investment Agency

Furthermore, the delegation visited Vietnam’s Foreign Investment Agency to learn about incentives and support available for South Korean companies entering the market. They received a commitment for active support for Goryeong County’s businesses entering Vietnam.

Mayor Lee Nam-cheol expressed, “Through the export consultation in Vietnam, we took a significant step in opening export channels for Goryeong’s outstanding companies to overseas markets. Additionally, by signing an MOU with K-Market, the largest Korean food distributor in Vietnam, we will actively support the global expansion of Goryeong’s agricultural products and processed foods.”
