The top leaders who contributed to the development of the Korean economy this year have been selected.
The “Top 25 Leaders of the Korean Economy 2024” have been selected.
On the 25th, the Korea Economic Daily and Korea Economic Magazine held the 1st “2024 Korean Economy’s Best Leaders” award ceremony at the Grand Ballroom of the Eliena Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul.
The “2024 Best Leaders of Korean Economy” is the first event of its kind, hosted by the Korea Economic Media Group and organized by Korea Economic Magazine. It is supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Shared Growth Committee. The event aims to present objective standards that respond to contemporary trends, selecting the leaders, companies, and organizations responsible for South Korea’s economy.
The leaders are chosen across eight categories: Service, Environment, Social Contribution, Technological Innovation, Brand, Talent Development, Management Innovation, Quality, and R&D. The 25 leaders selected have achieved remarkable accomplishments in their respective fields.
The awardees include: Kang Sung-hee, Chairman of Carrier Air Conditioning (Customer Satisfaction), Kang Joong-gu, President of the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (Sustainable Management), Ko Sang-gu, Chairman of K&K Global Trading (Innovative Management), Koo Ja-kwan, CEO of Samkoo I&C (Job Creation), Kim Kwan-young, Governor of North Jeolla Province (Innovative Economic City), Kim Dong-min, CEO of JLKE (Medical AI), Kim Dong-woo, CEO of Bukang Tech (Eco-friendly), Kim Jeom-bae, Chairman of Alkao Trading (Creative Management), Kim Jeong-hwan, CEO of Himpel (Customer Satisfaction Brand), Kim Ho-young, CEO of Careone (Environmental Care Service), Park Jong-beom, Chairman of Yeongsan Group (Global Management), Baek Seong-hyun, Mayor of Nonsan (Innovative Policy), Seong Seung-yong, CEO of Spheron (R&D), and more.
In his speech, Kim Jeong-ho, CEO of the Korea Economic Daily, said, “The awardees are business leaders who will not only be responsible for the economy of South Korea but also the global economy. They are creating new markets and constantly generating jobs with foresight and keen judgment. The increase of such leaders is essential for overcoming the current crisis facing South Korea.”
He continued, “I hope you will continue to lead efforts to make South Korea a better country, a nation where people are happy. Once again, congratulations to those selected as the Best Leaders of the Korean Economy 2024.”
