Ko Sang Goo, Next President of the World Federation of Korean Associations

Ko Sang Goo will officially take office as the next president of the World Federation of Korean Associations (abbreviated “Sehan Chongyeon”) on October 4th.

Sehan Chongyeon announced on the 11th that a “Sehan Chongyeon Member Workshop and President Inauguration Ceremony” will be held on that day from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Olympia Hall in the Jamsil Olympic Parktel.

The “Member Workshop and President Inauguration Ceremony” will bring together Korean community leaders from around the world, aiming to strengthen solidarity and enhance capabilities. During the workshop, the 3-year term of the first president, Sim Sang-man, will be reviewed, followed by a special lecture by former UN Ambassador Oh Jun and a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the 3rd anniversary of Sehan Chongyeon’s founding. At 5:00 PM, the president inauguration ceremony will take place, where Sim Sang-man will step down and Ko Sang Goo will take over as the second president.

Additionally, Sehan Chongyeon held a general meeting on September 11th, where Ko Sang Goo, the president-elect, was confirmed as the next president. Mr.Ko will begin his 3-year term on October 6th.

Sehan Chongyeon was founded on October 6, 2021, as an organization representing Korean communities worldwide. Its mission is to improve the status of Koreans abroad, expand various forms of cooperation with Korea, and contribute to the development of the Korean diaspora community.
